What days do your sessions run?

Woodland Playgroup runs every Monday and Friday morning at Squirrel Wood, DN6 9JQ, all year round. During school holidays, Forest Friends also offers themed story trails, events and family playgroup sessions.

Where are your sessions based?

Sessions are held at Squirrel Wood, Doncaster, DN6 9JQ. It is a large scout camp just outside Burghwallis, with access from the A19 and A1.

Do you offer taster sessions?

No, but you can book a single session.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

Yes. Siblings are half price unless otherwise stated.

Do adults have to pay?

No. Adults do not need to pay, although adults are limited to 2 per child.

Do you provide private sessions?

Yes. Forest Friends offers private parties and sessions. Use the Book a Party or Contact page for more information.

Is there a toilet on site?

Yes. There is a disabled toilet and baby change area available.

What should we wear?

Wear old outdoor clothing suitable for the weather. Long sleeves and trousers are recommended, even in summer. In winter, bring warm layers, hats, scarves, gloves, wellies and welly socks.

What happens if it rains?

Sessions still run in the rain. Forest Friends has access to indoor space if high winds, thunderstorms, lightning or severe weather warnings are issued. If a session is cancelled, we will try to rearrange or offer a place in lieu at another playgroup session.

Playgroup sessions are recommended for under 7s. Pre-walking babies are free with a paying older sibling. School holiday family sessions are recommended for children up to 11 years old.

Yes. Forest Friends is a stay-and-play woodland playgroup.

What activities do you provide?

Activities include mud kitchen, hammocks, rope swings, dens, crafts, bug hunting, water play, music, book tent, baby area, Ninja Slackline, tinker tool station and themed play trays. Each session is a little different.
